Last day of class! Please post your “This I Believe”/course reflection pieces to iTunes U (by the end of the day if you haven’t already posted one).

It’s been a great session and I hope you had some fun and learned something new about sound as a compositional mode! Good luck with you future courses!

We’re coming to the end of the session—just one day left! Since we’ve only got one more day left, I’ve decided not to post a reading for this week. For today work on your “This I Believe” reflection essay and post it to iTunes U by the end of class tomorrow.

I’ve been making my way through your TAL essays and I’ve been really impressed with your work! I’ll be sending comments to everyone via email in the next week or so. Great work everyone!

Radio Essay Works Cited

Date August 4, 2008

If you need to include an external Works Cited page with your Sound Essay, post it here in the comments. Your essay should be uploaded into the course iTunes U site. It seems like it’s been a bit buggy the last few days, so please let me know if you have any problems doing that.

There are two tasks for class today:

  1. Write a short (1-2 paragraph) response to Shipka’s piece and post as a comment to this blog. (I know Barbara already posted a response on 7/30.)
  2. Work on your sound essay.

Please let me know if you need any help with your projects, and have a great weekend!

7/31

Date July 30, 2008

Open lab.

Don’t forget to look at Shipka’s article—you’ll need to be able to write a response about it on Friday.

Change in Spring 2008 Schedule

Date July 30, 2008

Since I know that several of you were interested in the spring schedule for my English 767/867 New Media Theory and Practice II course, I wanted to let you know that as of yesterday, the schedule has changed. Rather than Thursdays from 7:10-9:50 as I requested, it appears that it was scheduled for Mondays from 7:10-9:50—and I can’t even guarantee that yet. If there are any of you who want to take the class but absolutely couldn’t do it on Mondays, please send me an email to let me know. It’s still possible to change this schedule, but it will be too late by the time the fall semester begins.
