Project 2: Website Redesign, Multiple Due Dates

This project has multiple deadlines, but the final project deliverables will be due in class on Thursday, 10/2.

Project Description

As a group, you will pick a website that you feel is poorly designed. Then, using the design concepts we have been discussing, you will redesign the look and structure of the website.

Project Goals

• Develop the ability to differentiate between bad and good design and articulate the differences.
• Practice making good design choices
• Learn to plan a website

Project Deliverables

• Initial project memo (Due by the end of class on 9/18), which should:

• ID the website you have chosen
• Outline the issues you plan to address through your redesign
• Articulate project roles for each group member

• Website redesign plan (Due 9/25) (must include site map)
• Redesigned website mock-up (Due10/2) (can be electronic or paper-based)
• Final website project memo (Due 10/2), which should include:

• How your redesigned site addresses the issue identified in the intial project memo.
• Areas in which your redesign was successful.
• Areas in which your redesign may still require more work
• Attach brief evaluations from each team member of the work performed by each fellow team member
